One Day In July

River Barrow

One day in July of 2025 is going to be remembered as the day when heat was on and the light was on. That day. 12th of July when all people who went on holidays to Spain , Portugal, Thailand, Zanzibar missed something that doesn't happen often here in Republic of Ireland. They were thinking about weather like on that day to the degree that they spent little fortunes to go to mention above countries to experience the heat. However the heat was on in The Republic and again I was happy that I didn't go anywhere but stayed here.

I took my gear and went to famous Britas Bay beach to stuck in one mile traffic at the approach. Rule number one of driving at the weekends. I don't sit in traffic. So I turned around I drove along the coast to Morricastle Beach. Less crowded, same beauty. Ideal in these conditions. I left all my cameras, drones in the car to be able to sit and relax as well as go to the sea. I spent around two hours there, sunbathing, walking and relaxing.

The hunger kicked me out to the nearest town to eat something and in the meanwhile friend of mine who was on the way to ferry to France called me. I went to meet him and eat something.

Despite the heat on that day I was ready to explore this area and I found on the map a place on the river where I could have a chance to dive into the water for the first time that day. Graiguenamahagh on the border between counties Carlow and Kilkenny on the river Barrow was crowded but perfect for swim. I found little spot and dove in fairly warm water. Such an amazing experience.

Among different activities I didn't fly my drone yet so I found viewing point not to far from where I was and drove fifteen minutes. The place was great. Stunning view, no people. I had the view on lock on the River Barrow and folks swimming, kayaking bellow. Great spot to fly, practice smooth movements and capture some amazing footage.

I will remember that day in July when I could feel like I'm in Spain or Portugal but I was at home and I didn't have to do much to experience this. I love that feeling and I'm grateful for that day.
