Port of Dublin is a special place for me and I have to admit that I go there to shoot a lot lately. Place is demanding because of the weather conditions during winter months but is rewarding in the same time. From stunning sunrises and sunsets, variety of different objects like cargo vessels, ferries, cruise ships etc. to changing weather conditions. This all waits for you in the port and more. I like it because Dublin is lacking its big city character. There is no skyscrapers, big bridges and buildings in general. Dublin Port is a place when you feel that here island is connected somehow with rest of the world. When you fly your drone here you think about people being on that ferries, cargo vessels. Once you pass Poolbeg Lighthouse and enters Dublin Bay worlds stands open for you. World's ocean seen as a huge highway is something that fascinates me. It can be dangerous at times but for countries located close to its lanes its a huge opportunity to to trade and grow. In the past same ocean was dangerous for different than bad weather reasons. Across the Irish Sea powerful United Kingdom was able to easily access island of Ireland and conquer it. Back in the days, 1000 years ago vikings came and conquer both Ireland and England. You can feel it here at the shore in Dublin Port.
Come over when you're in Dublin and you drive a hired car or something. Google Poolbeg Lighthouse and have a walk towards a sea when huge ships are so close that you feel like you can touch them.
